1. In Bun Grád 2 Hand and 3 Hand Competitions, dancers must have competed in at least one solo dance competition in Bun or Tús Grád. Basic Steps only may be used.
2. In Bun Grád Céilí Dancing (4, 6, or 8 Hands), competitions are confined to those who have never won 1st place for that dance in any age or grade. Dancers who have won Open Championships are not permitted.
3. No dancer may be a member of more than one team in any one competition.
4. Bun Grád competitions are confined to dancers who have never won 1st prize in that particular dance in any grade, including two-hand and three-hand competitions. Bun Grád steps must be performed.
5. Tús Grád competitions are confined to dancers who have never won 1st prize in Tús, Lár, Meán or Ard Grád. Tús steps must be danced.
6. Lár Grád competitions are confined to dancers who have never won 1st prize in that dance in their age or higher in Lár, Meán or Ard Grád.
7. Meán Grád competitions are confined to dancers who have never won 1st prize in that dance in their age or higher in Meán or Ard Grád.
8. Make up is not permitted in Bun and Tús Grád up to and including Under 12 competitions.
9. Competitors in all ages in Bun and Tús Grád may only wear class costume, skirt and blouse or appropriate civilian clothing. Low cut tops or short tight skirts are not permitted.
10. In all Bun and Tús Grád Competitions, re-grading numbers are determined by the number who compete: 1–5 dancers (no upgrade), 6–9 (one upgrade), 10–19 (two upgrades), 20–30 (three upgrades). One extra upgrade per ten dancers after that.
11. In Bun Grád 2 Hand and 3 Hand Competitions, dancers must have competed in at least one solo dance competition in Bun or Tús.
